About Rough Footage & Me

Like so many other folks, I found a good deal of boredom during the ugly time of history called Covid.  To fill some of the time, I started working on something that I had been asked to do by friends and family over the years.

I have had the opportunity to travel a great deal.  And I have a number of good stories and lots of unique photos built up.  When I have shared those, I always get too many requests for more.  Thus, I figured a good way of handling this was to set up a YouTube channel and some other sites.

I'm not doing this to become some rich vlogger type.  I really couldn't care less about "being a vlogger" -- hardly a life goal for me, like it seems to be for so many today.  I'll add things as time allows, and I hope those that see them will enjoy them.

If I have a goal at all with doing this, it is to share the one thing that I find most important about travel and exploration.  That is understanding.  Through travel, when done properly, one can go beyond the bounds of one's own horizons, and, hopefully, learn about others and their likes, fears, culture, and what it means to be them.

I currently live in the USA, and it has been beyond scary for the past four years or so since January 20, 2017 to see the lack of understanding and empathy that has run rampant in certain segments of our society.  I always knew it was there to some degree, but it is only in this time that I learned it to be at such horrible levels.

Travel and exploration, again when done right, can bring illumination and understanding.  And with that can perhaps come a little better planet for all of us.
